Sevensmith has updated with three pages!

(This happens seldom enough that I figured I would announce it. I may announce the next one, too!)

I have a few reasons for this post! One of them is Sevensmith-related directly-- I think I am going to start using this community to announce when new pages go up, since that comic has no schedule yet. So if anyone reading this entry has a livejournal account and wants to keep up with that comic, following this community may be helpful!

Well, since the last update I've posted all of the pages mentioned, as well as ten pages into the first chapter. The archive page now exists as well and is viewable here, so if you haven't looked at the comic since the lull began in the summertime, page 14 should be the place to resume at.

Haha, for anyone looking through all the pages it's probably very noticeable that the style changes a lot in some places-- notably about halfway through chapter one. These stylistic shifts may go on for awhile until I can find a way to ink and tone/colour that is not only fast but also looks good. The coloured pages tended towards the 'looks good' side... the black and white ones lately have been tending to the 'fast' side of the scale, except for one which I did in marker. I may need to buy some more greys, as I borrowed the ones I used there...

Anyway! Hope you enjoy the pages. (:

Well, yes, it's been a while. But Sevensmith hasn't been completely idle, I promise!

... Err, make that only somewhat not-idle. >_>;;

At any rate, the point of this update is this: all back pages have been updated with the properly typeset ones, and we're now up to page 19. And if it makes anyone feel any better, there are 24 (or is it 25? I don't have the file handy D:!!) pages for this section total, and 4 pages for the next - and they're all drawn and such. I just have to typeset them.

So. Here's to hoping there will be more updates here in the near future? 8D? Future updates hopefully will include not only more pages, but also a guestbook (once Thane wrestles the code into submission). Also be sure to check out varethane's side comic - also hosted on the main webpage - "Chirault"! Has nothing to do with Sevensmith, but it is pretty awesome so far. ;D

Should mention that the comic is updated through page 10, though I still need to finish re-typesetting them and some of the upcoming pages as well. I probably should have posted this a week ago when the update actually happened, so I apologize about that! D:

Well, I should hope we do.

The first page of comic is finally UP at the new official website, which is still under construction. A lot of the pages at the website need to be edited and/or need information in the first place, but it's technically been up for a while now. XD; We're still messing with the layout as well. Please be patient with us! We've got more pages to come, hopefully sooner rather than later. (My internet keeps dying on me - I'm using a different computer right now, and none of the programs/files I need are on this hard drive!)

There is also a fantastic new art piece up at the main deviantART page. Tell Thane how awesome she is. 8D

So yes. A few things to note.
1. The comic is read Western-style (from left to right), regardless of the fact that it's technically manga-style.
2. The artist is varethane (The Thane of Vare! RAR!), the writer is bakabokken (Rinja), and the webmistress is bakarini (NAJH). That information isn't on the site yet, but should be noted.
3. Err, I guess the best place to check for updates for now would be either Thane's or Rinja's journals, the deviantART page, or this community.

H'okai, folks. Now that chapter 1 is underway (as in, the script's been written, it's been storyboarded, and there are a decent number of pages sketched and even a few finished), we're finally getting around to organizing this project. This update will cover several things that we're working on at the moment.

We've got a deviantART page now, which is listed as the website here for the time being (i.e., until we get ourselves a comic hosting page). There is art up there that pertains to the comic that hasn't yet been posted anywhere else, including some early character designs and a few other pictures and sketches. The character descriptions there are fairly incomplete, and I will at some point be rewriting them to be more comprehensive.

In addition to the character descriptions, I'm also working on a story synopsis and other important general information while Thane is taking care of the comic pages. Those will be posted once I've come up with something we both can agree on, though it might take me a while since I'm terrible at synopsis-type stuff. Hehe.

We're still figuring out where we want to host the comic. Once we do that and start uploading the actual pages there, we'll make an announcement both here and at DA. As for when this will happen... we're not sure yet, but it's in progress.

We have a decent number of things planned for this comic depending on how well it's received, so keep updated! Thank you to you guys who are now watching the community; we're excited to see that there's at least a little interest. ;D ♥
